Photography for leading UK logistics company – Whistl
In the Autumn of 2021 I was commissioned by one of the UK’s leading logistics fulfilment, mail and parcel delivery management firms, Whistl, to create an ‘image bank’ of resources. During this project I visited three of their sites, each with its own specialised usage. These included the company’s head office, a parcel and mail sorting centre and a warehouse fulfilment centre. I was tasked with capturing the human and personal element of the company, of those who carry out the everyday tasks and make the company so efficient in business. From strategy meetings, call handling through to truck driving and mail sorting – I had the pleasure of meeting the most upbeat and pleasant of people across all three sites. These images will be used by Whistl to fulfil a number of design and photographic needs, from recruitment posters, annual reports, marketing, presentations and website. During the shoot I worked closely with an art director from a design agency as well Whistl management at Head Office and on site to ensure the images were on brand and in keeping with current brand guidance. All images were taken using high quality prime lenses and lightweight, portable yet effective small lighting systems. This way of working helped the shoot to be as ‘nimble’ as possible, unobtrusive to those at work and time effective to cover as most areas of the operation as possible.
